Connecting people, products and places
I am a sustainability and responsible sourcing professional with more than 15 years of experience working across agricultural value chains, international development, and sustainable sourcing initiatives.
Throughout my career, I have worked with governments, NGOs, producer organisations, companies and international institutions across Latin America and global supply chains. While my work has evolved from market systems development and international cooperation to digital traceability and sustainable sourcing, one question has remained constant:
How can trade create more value for the people and landscapes behind the products we consume?
.
My Journey
In 2020, I relocated to Colombia and began working more closely with cocoa producer organisations and farming communities.
During long journeys through remote cocoa-growing regions, I gained a deeper appreciation not only for the complexity of producing commodities such as cocoa and coffee, but also for the stories, cultures and ecosystems connected to them. I was repeatedly struck by how much knowledge, dedication and stewardship exist at origin — and how little of it is visible in global markets.
Those experiences fundamentally shaped the way I think about sustainability.
For me, sustainability is not only about compliance, certification or reporting. It is about creating systems that recognise the people who produce our food, strengthen rural livelihoods, and help protect the landscapes on which we all depend.

Why Story Bean
Story Bean emerged from a simple observation:
The people, cultures and landscapes behind many of the products we consume remain largely invisible.
Through advisory work, storytelling and practical ventures, Story Bean explores how stronger connections between consumers and origin can create more transparent, regenerative and meaningful forms of trade.
It is a space where professional experience, personal curiosity and a passion for origin come together.
